Teacup by Rebecca Young is an allegory about growing up. A boy journeys on the oceans with a teacup which contains dirt from his favorite playground. He travels in search of a space to build his new home and family. He finds it thanks to the tree that grows out of the teacup. The tree symbolises how his happy childhood supports him on the journey. Students used watercolors to paint their teacup and the object they would put in it to remember their childhood on their journey.
