A French Canadian New Year's Celebration

Mme Fafard visited our class last Friday. She told us about how New Year was celebrated when she was a child. We learned that French Canadians used to exchange gifts on New Year's day instead of Christmas morning. We also learned about the family celebrations on New Year's Eve.
